Get ye’ hatch peppers while they’re hot!

The hatch chile is the green chile that made the town of Hatch, New Mexico famous. So it’s a chile…what’s the big deal? No no no, this is not your normal chile – it’s actually said to be the best tasting pepper in the world - almost like a mild but magnificant jalapeño and be substituted for an Anaheim. But according to one of Hatch’s many distrutors, Young Guns Produce, we are nearing the FINAL days of hatch chile season and they are shipping off the last of these prized green guys TODAY! Oh no! That means that this weekend your LAST chance before the long dreaded wait until next August. Looking for a party? The whole town of Hatch, New Mexico plus a few 30,000 visitors come together annually during the Hatch Valley Chile Festival…going on this weekend (September 4th and 5th) !!!  Don’t want to grab your bags and spice it up with the locals? Head on over to the market, because the may just be grilling up their own Hatch chile festival up right now!

Don’t miss out on the hatch chile! Why are you even reading this? Shouldn’t you be driving right now? Go!!! You’ve got no time to waste! Oh…and if you don’t mind. Grab me a couple too. They go great in my Chicken Chili recipe. Thanks!

Why thank you SO much! Hatch peppers are really tasty in chili too! Try it out! I roasted one for my chicken chili for our cook-off at work. My recipe is located here. Enjoy!

Hello Jennie, I love your site! After living in Albuquerque for a couple years, I have fallen in love with chile. Green chile, red chile, chile rellenos, chile stew… The list could go on forever. Reading this brought back memories of the smell of roasting chile in the fall air.
